Cleo collects the information needed to create and manage a split, including receipt images, receipt text, item details, phone numbers, claim activity, payment status, and organizer account details.
We use this information to scan receipts, create claim and pay links, verify recipients by phone, send split-related messages, maintain the shared ledger, improve the product, and protect the service from abuse.
Cleo does not process payments or hold funds. Payment links may open third-party payment apps or show payment instructions, and those services handle their own transactions and policies.
We share split details with the people invited to a receipt or trip so they can claim items, review amounts, and mark payments. We also use service providers for hosting, authentication, messaging, analytics, monitoring, and AI receipt processing.
We keep split records as long as needed to provide the service and maintain accurate ledgers. Organizers can update or remove information where the app supports it.
Cleo uses tokenized links, phone verification, server-side access controls, and provider security controls to help protect split data.
